pressed flower arrangement

As you’ve no doubt been told a million times already, your wedding will be over in the blink of an eye. So, it’s no wonder that we’re a little obsessed with preserving the special moment that you likely worked on for a year (if not more!). And sure, photos are cool and definitely a must, but there’s something about seeing an actual keepsake from that day that can really bring you back. And, believe it or not, your wedding bouquet makes the perfect wedding-day keepsake. We know you’ve seen it popping up on your Pinterest feed (thanks to the almighty algorithm) so here are all the [actually attractive] ways you can preserve your wedding bouquet. Photo from here.

Pressed and framed

pressed flowers in the frame with wedding invitation

You’ll notice that this is one of the only examples of dried/pressed florals that we picked and that’s for good reason. Dried flowers can go from joyful to morbid real quick. In fact, you’ll notice that a lot of these preserved floral artists do memorial work as well. We love this specific piece because it is artfully arranged, the flowers are still vibrant and held their color well, and we also love that the artist incorporated the wedding invitation into the composition, so there’s no confusion as to what’s being commemorated.

Ring

ring made from wedding flowers

We’ve seen a lot of pressed flower and resin flower jewelry, but this one stood out to us because it was so subtle and delicate. This ring is great for everyday wear, especially if you don’t plan on wearing your engagement ring or wedding band on the reg. We also love that it’s not overtly floral, it kind of looks like a crystal until you get close up.

Wooden Tray & Ornaments

Bupp Wood Works

Having your wedding flowers preserved into a wooden tray with resin is a unique and beautiful way to cherish your special day forever. Not only does it allow you to preserve the natural beauty and essence of your flowers, but it also creates a stunning piece of art that you can proudly display in your home. T

he process involves carefully drying and pressing the flowers, arranging them into a design, and encasing them in a clear resin that hardens to create a durable and protective layer. This method of preservation ensures that your flowers remain vibrant and intact for years to come, and the wooden tray adds a rustic and natural touch that complements any decor style. Whether you choose to display it on your mantle or use it as a centerpiece on your dining table, a preserved floral tray is a wonderful way to capture the beauty and memories of your special day. Shop this gorgeous tray and many other handmade keepsakes from Bupp Woodworks and Designs.

Minimalist sign

So florals don’t really go with your decor? No prob! Check out these chic minimalist signs created with resin and dried flower petals from your bouquet. Whether you get your new married name or the date of your wedding, you can’t go wrong with this unique take on bouquet preservation.

Decorative block

resin block with wedding bouquet

If you actually want to see your flowers, like really see them, this is the way to go. These resin blocks are the closest thing we’ve seen to having your actual bouquet on display. Resin keeps all of the colors preserved and captures the essence of each of the flowers beautifully. A block like this makes a great conversation piece for on your mantle or bookshelf.

Ring holder

ring holder made from wedding flowers

Does it get any more apropos than a ring holder made from your wedding bouquet? And seriously, how gorg are these?! We may recreate our wedding bouquet just to have one of these babies made…just sayin’.

Decorative letter

resin letter made from wedding bouquet

While still very much floral, we like that these resin letters don’t scream bouquet. They make perfect decorative accents for any room in your home and serve as a subtle reminder of your wedding day.

Pressed flower tray

gold pressed flower tray

With a quick Etsy search, you’ll notice that there are a lot of these babies out there, but we picked this one because we thought the gold leaf technique was unique. You can use these trays to serve drinks or as a vanity tray to organize all of your favorite perfumes and beauty essentials.

Custom coasters

coasters made from wedding flowers

By far, this is the most practical use of your wedding bouquet. Who doesn’t need coasters? And these ones are so pretty! We love that this artist kept the edges organic and used different flowers and pieces of greenery for each coaster giving them all a unique look.

Dried floral dome

And while we probably scared you away from dried flowers already, this one was worth sharing because it was just that pretty! This artist was able to conserve the bright colors and we love the vertical arrangement. Plus, the little girl in us can’t get over the Beauty & the Beast vibes…

Wedding Invitations are one of the first expenses to come out of your budget, and while they may look simple, those pretty piles of paper can have you spending some serious paper. Pinterest is practically overflowing with adorable stationery ideas, but those stunning custom suites have the average couple spending thousands on invitations alone, not to mention all of the add-ons. Don’t get us wrong, custom invitations are works of art and are well worth the investment if you’ve got it to spend, but for many couples that simply isn’t in the cards (pun intended). Thankfully the printable options are getting way cuter with most of them taking inspiration from those dreamy hand-crafted stunners. But, if none of the easy-order printed invites are quite what you envisioned, we’ve got some easy and affordable DIY hacks for giving your printed invites that bespoke feel.

Did you know that we have a huge collection of printable invitation suites right here on Wedding Chicks? AND THEY’RE FREE! So check it out and put that extra money in your pocket for those designer shoes you’ve been dreaming of. You’re welcome 😉

Envelopes and Liners

Give Your Printed Invites A DIY Glow UpPhoto:

Most websites and companies offering printable invitations, like Minted, have the option to include matching envelopes and some offer custom liners as well. This is a quick and affordable way to give your invites an added pop. If the company you’re ordering from does not have an envelope or liner option, there are plenty of great places to buy these babies online (and in bulk!) like Envelopes.com. If you’re really crafty, you can design your own envelope liner with Zazzle

Calligraphy

Give Your Printed Invites A DIY Glow UpPhoto:

Hands down, calligraphy is the best way to elevate your wedding invitation suite. There’s something about calligraphy that makes everything look more expensive (because it usually is!). But, there are a few ways to cheat the system. The first option is to select a calligraphy font on whatever website you are ordering from. The key to getting that hand-done look is to select a font that’s not too perfect, so before you check out their calligraphy font suggestions, take a peek at the handwriting category if they have one. If it’s an option, go ahead and pay the additional to have your envelopes addressed and printed by the company that is printing your invitations and use the same calligraphy font for the addresses as well. Another way to get the look is to actually do it yourself. Not already a calligraphy master? Don’t sweat it! There are a ton of great tutorials out there like this one by Amanda Lee and beginner calligraphy kits to get you started. We also came across this tutorial that shows how to use a Cricut machine (if you have one) to get perfect printed lettering that looks like you did it all by hand!

Custom Stamps

Give Your Printed Invites A DIY Glow UpPhoto:

Stamps often go overlooked when it comes to wedding invitations, but a good stamp can add a ton to the overall presentation. Similarly, if you just go with whatever they’ve got at the post office, it can take even the prettiest invites down a few pegs. Don’t know where to look? Check out The Little Postage House, a company that collects and sells vintage postage sets. Choose from one of their curated sets that are sorted by theme and color or request a consultation for a custom set that captures your wedding design and personality. You can also shop for themed stamps on the USPS website where they have a much larger selection than your local post office.

Wax Seals

Give Your Printed Invites A DIY Glow UpPhoto:

You knew this was coming. Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned wax seal? And, they’re super easy to DIY! There are a ton of pre-made seal options and customizable templates on Etsy. Go with something classic like a floral pattern or make it super custom with a monogram. Now that you’ve got the seal, let’s talk wax. You can do it like they did back in the day by melting a wax stick and dripping it onto your sealed envelope, or you can use the modern method where you put wax sticks into a glue gun and add the wax to the envelope that way. We recommend the latter, though the old-fashioned way does come out looking slightly more organic. If that all sounds like too much work, there are companies that create the wax seal for you and add an adhesive to the back, so all that’s left to do is stick it on. Keep in mind that letters with wax seals cannot be put through the sorting machine at the post office and will need to be hand-canceled. For some added drama add some dried flowers to your wax seal, because, why not?

Not Your Average Floral Preservation https://www.weddingchicks.com/diy-projects-bouquet-ideas/not-your-average-floral-preservation/ Sun, 26 Jun 2022 16:13:00 +0000 Give your wedding bouquet a second life and the opportunity to be on display for much longer than just your wedding day with Bloomist.

Not Your Average Floral Preservation

There is so much that goes into the details of a wedding and often times price is the biggest factor. In deciding what is worth the price, something we see couples consider is the longevity of their details outside of the wedding itself. Are your favors something you have use for if there are 50 left over at the end of the night? Can you reuse any of your signage as at home decor?

Something we hear a lot is the back and forth between what to spend money on and where to save. Florals are often high up on the list of details of which have a short “shelf life” – they add so much to the atmosphere and visuals of a wedding, but don’t last much longer than that.

Floral Preservation in the Form of Forever Art

Not Your Average Floral PreservationNot Your Average Floral Preservation

Having a way to preserve your florals (without it being pressed into your wedding album only to crumble out when you go to open it 40 years down the road) is the solution we’ve been waiting for and let us tell you, Bloomist does it right. How? By offering unique floral bouquet preservation in the form of beautiful forever art. In addition to bouquet preservation, bloomist offers bespoke wedding stationery and day of signage made with mostly locally gathered wild flowers or flowers from Telnaz’s own garden.

The very idea that flowers die so quickly made Telnaz Mazidi, Designer & Artisan of Bloomist sad and is what lead her to learn about preservation techniques. Starting by pressing and preserving flowers as a way to bring nature inside panned out to be the perfect solution for brides as well.

Bloomist’s goal is to preserve the nature within your bouquet and give you a way in which to remember and admire the florals from your special day for many years!

A Modern Way To Preserve Your Bouquet

Not Your Average Floral Preservation

Couples love her whimsicle, airy and organic aesthetics of her work, which gives couples a modern and non-traditional way to preserve flowers. The best part? All your flowers from your bouquet can be used – not just the easy to press ones!

Feel good about splurging on the bouquet of your dreams knowing you’ll get to enjoy it for more than just your big day.

Want to Preserve Your Wedding Flowers? We Know Exactly Where You Should Go

There are so many elements of a wedding event that can instantly take you back to the day you said “I do.” Off the top of our heads: What you wore, what you smelled like, what you ate, who you spent the day with, etc. Everything can be a reminder, even and especially, the wedding photos. But it’s the concept of preservation — something from the day itself, being totally locked in time — that really gives us all the feels and makes us happier that it happened, rather than sad that it’s over. A floral bouquet, something perfectly curated and arranged, with carefully-chosen colors and brilliant blooms, is one of our FAVORITE preservable items in a bride’s trousseau, and it’s something that Bonnie’s Blooms has completely bested over the years. So, if you’re already starting to mourn the mere thought of your wedding flowers dying after your big day, then you’ll definitely want to game plan their second life well before you need to.

A seed planted in 2018 has bloomed into a beautiful business

Want to Preserve Your Wedding Flowers? We Know Exactly Where You Should Go

Bonnie’s Blooms started in 2018, when Bonnie (the boss behind the namesake brand) and her husband got married. They had spent thousands of dollars on their wedding flowers, and didn’t want them to be thrown in the trash after the big day. So, before they left for their honeymoon, Bonnie decided to take apart her bouquet and put the flower petals into coffee table books.

After a few weeks of the flowers drying and flattening in books, Bonnie removed and arranged the petals in a frame, flawlessly flanking her wedding invitation. The piece of art became a sentimental staple in their home and the first piece that prompted friends and family to ask if Bonnie could replicate her magic for them.

She started taking on customers and trying different pressing techniques. At one point, she was microwaving flowers to speed up the pressing process and to maximize color retention. But she ultimately learned that a traditional wood press yielded the best, most aesthetically-pleasing preserved flowers so she began building her own impressive presses. No big deal, right… #BornToBeAMaker

Want to Preserve Your Wedding Flowers? We Know Exactly Where You Should Go

Bonnie’s process starts with deconstructing fresh wedding bouquets and retiring them into the capable hand’s of her handmade wood presses. The flowers are flattened and dried for approximately six weeks, at which they’re removed and organized into a unique, colossally-creative design. No preservatives or color enhancements are added during or after pressing, but the final artwork lasts years, generations, even, if displayed properly.

And for the flower diehards out there, here’s a few other ways she can bring beauty into your life

I’ll first say that I’ve been married for 8 years, and I failed miserably to do something with my flowers — which I LOVED and obsessed over for the entirety of my engagement, I’ll have you know — but Bonnie is amazingly-talented, and if I could do it all over again… this is precisely what I’d do.

Feel free to pluck some of these ideas as your own

When you’re planning a wedding, it’s easy to get carried away with all of the fun DIY projects that present themselves. But, if you’ve seen Nailed It, you know how risky DIY projects can be. And, let’s face it, some of us are craftier than others, so it’s important to be realistic with your abilities and your free time. If done right, you can save a ton of money by doing some of the less visible decor and favors yourself, but when it comes down to the big stuff, it is definitely best to leave that to the professionals. For your safety and the overall aesthetics of your wedding, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to outline a few DIY projects that are simple, look great, and are super affordable…happy crafting! This Maryland wedding is the perfect example of how to DIY in style and for the super crafty this wedding in Hawaii is #goals! For even more inspiration check out our Pinterest where we have an entire board dedicated to fun wedding DIY projects.

Escort Cards

At every wedding, it’s important to have a display set up to help guests find their seats. Depending on how epic it is, it may or may not end up in a ton of photos, so escort card displays are fairly low stakes and therefore a safe DIY in our book. Here are some easy projects to inspire you.

Keys

Printables

There are a ton of printable templates available on Etsy like these ones. You simply download the template, enter your guests’ names, and hit print…it’s that easy. You can top it off with a ribbon, like the ones above, for an elegant touch.

pressed flowers

That’s right, these adorable pressed flower place cards are a DIY project and Lauren Saylor breaks it all down for you right here.

envelope wall

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto:

An envelope wall is a super easy and visually striking way to help your guests find their seats. All you have to do is buy envelopes in your wedding color palette, print your guests’ names on the flap, and get some hot glue or double-stick tape and fix them to a board! Feel free to get creative with the colors and the shape of the board.

Favors

This is a great place to start when you’re dipping your toes into the murky waters of DIY. Wedding favors can be hit or miss, but you can’t go wrong with something your guests can use in their everyday lives or, better yet, eat then and there. Here are a few easy DIY favors that are sure to be a hit.

Candles

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto/Candles:

This may seem difficult, but making your own candles isn’t as scary as it sounds and there are plenty of tutorials available online. You can pick up candle-making supplies at your local craft store and get cute printable label templates online.

Sweets

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto/Cake Pops:

If you’re a baker, then an edible favor is a great DIY project for you! Try this cake pop tutorial from Oh Sweet Day and play with the colors to coordinate with your wedding design. Your guests will love this tasty treat!

Infused Olive Oil

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto/Olive Oil Favors:

For this DIY project, all you need is your favorite olive oil, some cute containers, and your favorite herbs. How easy is that? And you know your guests will use them!

Table decor

Talk to your wedding planner about helping with the table decor. Instead of spending a ton on costly rentals, ask what types of items they were going to use and try to find them yourself at your local thrift stores or try your hand at DIYing them.

Upcycle thrifted items

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto:

Items like vases, candlesticks, and vintage china can easily be found at your local thrift stores. They may require a little TLC and it will definitely have that mix-and-match vibe, but as long as that fits with your aesthetic, thrifting your table decor can help you save big.

Table Numbers

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto/Table Numbers:

Whether you paint them or use your Cricut machine (if you’re extra crafty), making beautiful table numbers is a DIY no-brainer!

Handwritten Vows

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto/Vows:

If you have some spare time on your hands, learning calligraphy can really come in handy. Check out a few tutorials on youtube and invest in a calligraphy kit to DIY your handwritten wedding vows. They’ll look great and make for a great keepsake after the wedding!

Welcome Bags

Beginner Friendly DIY Projects For Your Wedding That You Won’t Regret LaterPhoto/Bag:

Now, we’re not telling you to make the bag itself (although if you’re feeling bold you totally could), but assembling your own welcome bag can be fun and will definitely save you a lot of money in the long run. Buy snacks and favors in bulk online and from local vendors to show your guests how happy you are to have them in town for your big day.

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

Not to scare you or put any bad vibes out into the universe during your wedding planning journey, but finding dreamy wedding flowers isn’t as easy as seeing a pretty photo on a floral designer’s Insta feed, attending a follow up consultation, and saying “That! That’s what I want. And lots of them. Thanks.” There is a whole process that needs to transpire and even when things go
as well as can be expected
, there can still be hang ups on the day that begins your happily ever after. That’s why we’re major fans of
Something Borrowed Blooms, a ‘Rent and Return’ Floral Boutique that specializes in premium silk wedding flower collections. And before you worry about your wedding flowers not being
real
, let this fact console you: SBB’s flowers look real, smell amazing, and are always picture perfect — no matter where or when you tie the knot. If they look like beautiful bridal blooms, smell like beautiful bridal blooms, and photograph like pure botanical artistry, then, yes, they’re real and they’ll work stunningly for your real wedding.

So, how does it work?

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

Serving couples from coast to coast, Something Borrowed Blooms offers over 70% in savings compared to a traditional fresh florist. That’s probably the most surprising and satisfying coup, but what might be
even
better than the savings is the utter convenience of it all.

You don’t have to have a favorite fete flower from the get-go.

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever
Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

In fact, Something Borrowed Blooms actually has a
Blooms Styler Quiz that you can play around with to discover the floral energy that’s perfect for you and your partner and your party-to-come.

You don’t have to wonder what floral elements should feature at your event.

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

You simply go online to Something Borrowed Blooms and choose from over 16 beautiful floral collections and décor options, including bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, boutonnieres, garlands, aisle markers, cake flowers, and more. Since there are no packages or minimums (another great thing when you consider how different and unique weddings are these days; you don’t have to have 12 bridesmaids anymore or feel pressured to opt for ALL high centerpieces for your reception), you can just purchase the items that fit your
particular
event needs.

You don’t need to keep fingers crossed that you’ll love your flowers on your wedding day.

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

You can
preview a sample pack of whichever blooms you’re gravitating towards and get a precise firsthand look of

exactly

what you (and/or your wedding party) will be holding on the aisle. This is extremely peace-of-mind ensuring, especially speaking as the Matron of Honor for my sister who got married a few years ago and didn’t have a single frame of reference for how her flowers would turn out on her wedding day. Everything
did
turn out beautifully on ‘game day,’ but when we went in to see the “sample” floral centerpieces and bouquets about 6 weeks out from her wedding, they were not even close to what we had discussed with her florist. They were the wrong colors, wrong floral varieties, suffice it to say, it was a very disheartening experience.

You don’t have to be confused about payment terms and conditions.

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

Which isn’t always totally straightforward when you work with a fresh floral designer (because issues with floral availability, wholesaler prices, market fluctuations, etc. can have an impact on your final costs). With Something Borrowed Blooms, once you figure out what kinds of flower power you
do
want to feature on your big day, you just enter your payment details at checkout with a 50% deposit (to lock in your looks!). The remaining balance is charged once your total floral order has shipped, and perfectly packaged flowers arrive at your doorstep THREE full days prior to your wedding celebration.

Enjoy your chosen blooms throughout the duration of your wedding weekend, and then return them the following business day using the prepaid shipping label enclosed in the order.

Here’s How We Know That Renting Wedding Flowers Is the Best Decision Ever

It’s seriously as simple as that. No hidden costs,
no unaccounted-for circumstances throwing a wrench in your total expenses

In a perfect world, we’d all have a bestie like Isabela who could snap her fingers and
grow rows and rows of roses
for our weddings, but unfortunately we’re just not there yet (p.s. if you haven’t seen Encanto, make sure you get on that, it’s magic).

That’s why we’re just smitten with Something Borrowed Blooms. Not only is their attention to detail effortlessly on-point, they strive to make ALL of their floral looks natural and photo-ready. Each stem is hand-selected and styled by professional fresh floral designers, and between each rental, every floral item goes through rigorous quality control (and can be refreshed, if needed) before it’s rented to the next bride.

Shop Something Borrowed Blooms right now to see the truth that we’re talking about!!

We’ll come right out and say it: Flowers are probably one of if not the most subjective wedding ‘must have’ out there. That’s not to say that entertainers, photographers, caterers (and more) are completely straightforward vendor hires — choosing and deciding among those wedding talents is totally torturous, too — they’re just a little more likely to get sussed out by overall wedding budget or what kinds of clout or press, reviews or recommendations the vendor has to their name. Florists, on the other hand, can adapt to any couples’ desires, but will also weave in an air of artistry that just confirms they understand your vibes, acknowledge your whims, and also want to pipe some extra magic into the main event. Jessica Vann-Campbell is exactly who we were thinking about when we strung those sentiments together, and if you’re looking for a flower girl who guarantees goosebumps when you see the goods on your big day, look no further.

Your girl.

Jessica Vann-Campbell Flowers Is Your Go-To in the PNW for Goosebump-Worthy Flower Goals

Jessica is an adoptive mother (to the sweetest little wildflower ever, her daughter Chloe) who started a small, Seattle-based flowering business as a second career move, alongside being a mental health therapist. Her mission from the beginning has been to make couture, lush, and professional, prestige-level floral design accessible to all couples, including those on a budget. Her style is quintessentially PNW (and you know we love us some PNW style #BoiseProud) with an emphasis on local greens and blooms, and she can accommodate everything from classic and traditional storybook steps in time to modern, boho styling with a fresh edge.

So, about those goosebumps…

While you can absolutely dreamscape your wedding day florals before meeting with Jessica, the coolest way to work with her is by coming in to collaborate and trusting her to turn it out when the time comes. This is what you get with a floral artist like Jessica.

Flowers that set a stage, there’s no upstaging.

And she does it with simple accents, embellishments, and floral focal colors that don’t bogart all of the attention (especially when it should be on you, the happy couple, always).

Jessica Vann-Campbell Flowers Is Your Go-To in the PNW for Goosebump-Worthy Flower Goals

Flowers that look like they were plucked from your venue itself.

And she does it by continuing to grow and refine her tricks and talents as a PNW force to be reckoned with. She gets to know her congenial community of wedding professionals as much as she can and she learns all about the unique and special places you’ll be saying your ‘I dos,’ so that your flowers look as genuinely, authentically, and poetically-posed as possible on your wedding day.

Flowers that aren’t even, but their botanic beauty is beyond.

And she does that with greenery that can literally lift the milestone moments in your wedding day — from your ceremony candles to your [best] dog collars — and everything in between.

Jessica Vann-Campbell Flowers Is Your Go-To in the PNW for Goosebump-Worthy Flower Goals

These brides got goosebumps, for sure.

“Jessica created the most gorgeous floral arrangements for our wedding that I have ever seen! I was absolutely obsessed with her work. On top of that, Jessica was extremely accommodating when we had to push our wedding back a year because of COVID and all of my design preferences changed during that year. She helped me reconfigure the color and design plan and made it all so easy. With the design I was envisioning, Jessica added an air plant into my bouquet that I can keep forever and add into my home decor so I’ll always have a living piece of our wedding day greenery. For the price you pay, Jessica goes above and beyond to make the wedding day so beautiful and to make you feel so special. I would highly recommend her as your wedding florist!” ~ Katie C., Seattle

“Jessica is an AMAZING florist and I highly recommend her floral services for any wedding event. I loved working with her! She is so kind and the sweetest person. Her florals for my wedding were absolutely perfect, and her pricing is extremely fair and competitive. She is super responsive, too. All of the florals had tons of peonies, which are my favorite. I had mentioned this to her and it looks like she added a lot so I’m truly grateful! My bouquet was amazing with all white peonies, roses, and ranunculus. I wish I could have just kept them forever! Jessica is the best and you should definitely hire her!” ~ Nicole T., Kirkland

“Jessica has been so kind and flexible with us as we navigated planning a 2020 wedding with her. She really cares about you as clients and puts forth her best when creating her florals for your wedding. Everything she has done for us has been exactly what I had pictured/wanted and more! We highly recommend her for your big day or for whatever your floral needs are! Thank you so much Jessica! You are truly amazing!” ~ Briana Z., Tacoma

A note that as a mental health therapist, Jessica also always offers a 10-percent discount to healthcare professionals and first responders. So, be sure to mention if you’re a healthcare hero!

If you’ve ever wondered if you could DIY your wedding bouquet with as much grace and confidence as some of the influencers you see on Insta, here’s our hot take: Yes, you absolutely can, the key is just to keep things clean and simple. Less is more in the case of novice floral styling, and we mean that wholeheartedly. We worked with
Afloral, the arbiters of faux plants and flowers, on a streamlined and endlessly iconic bouquet design, and have outlined all of our steps — in full detail — so that you can follow along. Now, granted, if you want to weave the work into your own wedding, we do suggest a buffer time of at least 4 months to fine-tune the look. As long as you have that, you should be golden!

If what you’re going for is: Chic and classic

Here’s a vision that might vibe with all you have planned :

What we used to create the most beautiful bouquet

This Simple Bouquet DIY From Afloral Will Stun At Your Classic Wedding

1.
White Artificial Lilac Spring Flowers

2.
Fake Lilacs Flower in Cream

3.
Artificial Seeded Eucalyptus Leaves

4.
Afloral Essentials Box of Floral Supplies

5. White Ribbon for a Classic Bridal Bouquet – This was actually an amazing thrift store find. Ribbon gets pricey at craft supply stores, so we recommend taking stock in what’s available at thrift shops, garage, and estate sales. This is no joke, either; we’ve found PURE gold for wedding details and decor when we’ve scouted out these places.

How we did it

This Simple Bouquet DIY From Afloral Will Stun At Your Classic Wedding

And to start, you’ll want to lay out all your stems in an easy-to-scan/easy-to-grab configuration. As soon as you start assembling the bouquet, it’s go time: everything needs to be accessible.

Start by grabbing 3 of the white lilac spring flowers and 2 of the fake lilacs in cream. The combination of white and cream creates a color story that’s decidedly bridal and aisle-inspired.

Gently start bending the stems to create the silhouette for your design. Fanning them out, bending, and twisting the stems helps to create a much fuller and natural-looking bouquet (tight, compact looks make us cringe a little bit). And, thankfully, it’s a lot easier to manipulate the floral product when it’s faux.

After tooling with the volume, fullness, and shape of the flowers, add in the seeded eucalyptus leaves for a touch of greenery, texture, and depth. For reference, we focused on planting the greenery on the edges of the design and a little in the middle. The aesthetic read more whimsical, airy, and organic.

Once you’re happy with the ultimate design, wrap your stems together with the floral tape enclosed in your Essentials Box and tidy up with a few snips to the stems (with your Afloral wire cutters).

Classic X 3

To call back to what we said earlier, if you’re attempting DIY for the first time, stick with a minimal, yet timeless floral aesthetic that 1) won’t drive you crazy (you’re planning a wedding, you don’t need extra stress) 2) will match with any kind of classic styling, especially if your palette plays with soft neutrals and 3) can be adapted for you and your bridesmaids (or maid/matron of honor).

White and green alone

The wonderful thing about DIY-ing your bouquet with faux flowers is that you can love on them all you want after the wedding. No preservation processes needed! Take your simple and striking bouquet, remove the embellishments, and drop them into a vase for a forever keepsake. Afloral has an
incredible assortment of vases you can take a peek at, too.
